Across the country, more women are reaching midlife and beyond without the traditional supports of marriage or children. Nearly 1 in 4 women at age 40 has never married, and by 75, nearly half of women live alone. These realities reveal an urgent truth: women need new ways to create belonging, safety, and connection as they age..

How Do Woven Communities Work?

Each woman in a Woven community buys into the community and pays a monthly fee that covers common area maintenance, utilities, and shared amenities. At the center of every community is a Common House — a place for group meals, workshops, guest stays, laundry, and larger gatherings. This model keeps living costs affordable while ensuring every woman has her own private home, balanced with the connection, support, and joy of living alongside others.
Behind the scenes, the team at Woven is actively working with municipalities across the West and Midwest to bring these communities to life. As you can imagine, creating a tiny home community — or any intentional community — is a complex process that requires vision, persistence, and the passion of women who believe in affordable, safe, community-driven housing for women. With Woven, that dream is becoming reality.
